Jojo's Bizzare Fanon Wiki

The Duality of Stand is the fan-made Part 9 of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, written by Th3Gr8DrX.

The core focus of this part is the bonds between two people in a family. A new Stand technique is only just being discovered in which when the Stands of two close, related people are used in conjunction, they are both more powerful than they would be alone.

This results in a lot of battles against pairs of enemies, rather than the more conventional "one enemy at a time". This also means that abilities are often enough seen being used in tandem with one another, such as with Abnormal being able to take control of the limbs that Take It Off relocates, or MARINA being able to cause the chaos necessary for Oh No! to approach, overcoming its biggest weakness, being range.

If you want to read it, it's right here!

THIS PAGE IS FUUUUULLL OF SPOILERS!!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! But... like... very inconsistent spoilers. Some stuff you really might not expect is present, while others that you actually would are for some reason missing.

ALSO, THIS PAGE IS VERY MUCH A WORK-IN-PROGRESS. PLEASE REMAIN PATIENT. THANK YOU.

Oh, and also, read CASCADA - Brook Happenstance. It's done now :)

    • Strengths:
      • incredible defensive capabilities
      • very difficult to counter
      • dangerous to fight due to collateral damage

      • the user is difficult to discern
      • the Stand has great durability
      • is technically a protagonist, therefore has minor plot armour
    • Weaknesses:
      • bombs take time to become a realistic threat, allowing opponents time to strategize

    • Stand: Ciao!
    • Strengths:
      • excellent synergy between the two
      • decent range
      • can affect a wide area all at once

      • always has the numbers advantage
      • controlling objects can be used very versatilely
      • climbing on walls makes for excellent potential for surprise attacks
      • damage isn't transferred to the user
      • scares the shit out of people
    • Weaknesses:
      • a hand is weak on its own
      • controlled objects aren't any more powerful than they usually would be
  • Mitch Laws

      • very long range relating to teleporting
      • even more powerful <10 seconds after teleporting
    • Weaknesses:
      • can only teleport if it isn't being looked at and has a place to teleport to that isn't being looked at
      • becomes incredibly slow and weak and leaves the user potentially defenseless if it can't get back into range after 10 seconds
  • The nameless boy
    • Stand: Manic Daydream
    • Strengths:
      • hard to counter
      • user basically always knows what’s going to happen
      • good in a fistfight if it comes down to it
      • good at manipulating people
    • Weaknesses:
      • save states have to be made manually and don’t last very long
      • the user has very low self esteem and doesn’t actually believe the ability to be very good, meaning he overcomplicates things for himself quite frequently
  • Ida Miller
    • Stand: Sweet Little Unforgettable Thing
    • Strengths:
      • difficult to counter
      • very versatile

    • Strengths:
      • long range
      • completely indestructible in all ways, immune to all harm imaginable, even the Spin
    • Weaknesses:
      • not particularly strong
      • very slow
      • user can't see through its eyes
      • despite its long range, it is not Automatic; has to be controlled
      • very easy for the user to be left defenseless
      • other than being immune to harm, it has no actual ability; incredibly straightforward
  • Ryan Kurstin
    • Stand: Su-Barbie-A
    • Strengths:
      • ability is potent
      • long range
      • can affect a lot of people at once
    • Weaknesses:
      • no strength, speed, stamina, etc.
      • the Stand is literally incapable of moving
  • Dalia
    • Stand: Cherry Gum
    • Strengths:
      • ability is incredibly inconspicuous
      • can affect large areas at once
      • the counter is essentially just to not breathe, something easier said than done
    • Weaknesses:
      • the fact that it requires, and therefore drains, the sugar in the user's blood makes longer fights out of the question
  • Thaddeus Benton
    • Stand: The Zombie
    • Strengths:
      • very strong
      • incredibly durable due to regeneration
      • deceptively long range with Spikes

    • Weaknesses:
      • "weakness"? I'm not familiar with the word.

Minor Stands

Some Stands featured in The Duality of Stand only have very little known about them, for one reason or the other. They include:

THIS SECTION IS A WORK-IN-PROGRESS

  • Stands seen only briefly/Stands with very minor roles:
    • Stands within Rockefeller Street:
    • Stands within Raising Hell:
      • Exceptional Woman - its appearance is unknown. Makes any room, building, or the like of the user's choosing completely soundproof. Even if the door, windows, etc. are open, you can't hear any noise coming from inside unless you're actually there. Namesake: Exceptional Woman (Song by Cameron Moody and Rayshaun Thompson)
      • On The Floor - takes the form of a wide variety of coloured streamers that appear on the ceiling of a room the user wishes. If a streamer is damaged, it begins to produce balloons, confetti, and other streamers, which rain down on people below, for a little while before the streamers then "heal". Namesake: On The Floor (Song by Jennifer Lopez)
      • The Matriarch - its appearance is unknown. Whenever someone enters a room the user is in, the user gains a great deal of information about them, including their Stand and their motivation for entering the room. Namesake: The Matriarch (Song by Cameron Moody and Rayshaun Thompson)
      • Forbidden Fairytale- its appearance is unknown. Allows the user to produce a variety of substances, such as drinks, that are in reality incredibly hard drugs that make you "have a really good time". This can be very dangerous, as it makes the taker completely oblivious to their surroundings, even if they are in incredible danger. Namesake: Forbidden Fairytale (Song by Cameron Moody and Rayshaun Thompson)
  • Stolen Stands used by The Zombie:
    • Discord - resembles a harlequin, with bright, yellow and black diamond-patterns on its outfit and hat, tipped with bells. It has grey curly-toed shoes and a white mash featuring a theatre-esque smile, and while it never talks, it is very physically expressive - skipping jovially rather than walking, spinning on one foot before using its ability, etc. It has very long range, and while it is very weak, it has impressive speed and acrobatic skills. Its ability is to shoot small bolts of electricity from its fingertips that, upon striking someone, excites their nervous system so that they will eventually lose the ability to focus or think clearly, sometimes manifesting as uncontrollable fear, depending on context. This effect is spread through touch. If it touches the ground, bolts fly out in many directions angled upward. Namesake: Discord (Song by Eruobeat Brony and The Living Tombstone)
    • Tonight - its appearance is unknown. Its ability is to cause darkness similar to that of an unilluminated moonless night to envelop a 10-metre radius, in which the user can see clearly, but all others have a great deal of difficulty. The user is able to allow anyone inside to see certain things unobscured if so desired. By default, Stands are invisible and inaudible, and don’t have access to any of their senses, when inside the darkness. Namesake: Tonight (I'm Lovin' You) (Song by Enrique Iglesias)
    • Poker Face
    • Telephone - appears as a small, colourful bird-like creature that perches on the user's shoulder. It grants the user the ability to use any object of a vaguely correct size as a telephone, being able to speak into it and receive audio from the person they are talking to. The "phone" instantly knows who the user wants to call without dialing anything being necessary. By dialing 278-263-8737 (DON’T CALL THIS NUMBER! I MADE IT UP AND IT MIGHT BE SOMEONE’S!), the user can be called. When this happens, the Stand will manifest on the user's shoulder of its own free will and begin chirping in a way that mimics a phone ringing. The user can accept the call using any object they have access to. Definitely not a reference to a certain pink-haired best boy. Namesake: Telephone (Song by Lady Gaga)
    • Bad Romance
    • Queen Supreme (technically Queen Supreme Abused)
    • Torn
    • Ghost Fight
    • Ghost Town
    • Seek & Destroy
  • Stands seen in Thaddeus Benton's laboratory, in the form of harvested hearts:
    • A Whole New World - manifests itself solely as an ability. It's power is quite straightforward - grants the user knowledge of every event to ever take place in the past, present, and future, across all timelines and universes. While useful in theory, this ability quickly caused the user to enter an anxiety attack-induced coma and eventually die. This is one of the Stands labelled as useless. Namesake: A Whole New World (the song from Aladdin)
    • Hit The Road - takes the form of a humanoid approximately 1.3 metres in height, with purple-blue skin and yellow robotic eyes, donning clothes similar to those commonly found during the Great Depression era. While manifested, all non-Stand users have a powerful subconscious urge to move away from the user in order to be at least 30 metres away from them at all times. This is one of the Stands labelled as useless. Namesake: Hit The Road Jack (Song by Ray Charles)
    • All Eyes On Me - takes the form of what appears to be a rough, hastily-drawn pencil sketch of a male human with short hair and wearing a three-piece suit. It grants the user a great deal of meta knowledge - allowing the user to know that they are a part of a story, that they are simply words on a page, and the like. Of course, no one actually believes the user, so everyone just assumes that the Stand makes you insane and start spouting random information concerning a made-up world. This is one of the Stands labelled as useless. Namesake: All Eyes On Me (Song by OR3O)
    • Shiny Diamond - you can probably figure out what this Stand looks like. Has the ability to shift injuries, e.g. change a broken rib into a broken finger, or a broken leg into a broken hand. This is one of the Stands labelled as useless by. Namesake: Crazy Diamond (The DiU Stand)

New Concepts

Stand Synergy

When two people of blood relation and a close bond use their Stands at the same time, within a close range of each other, and in a way that compliments each other, their Stands become more powerful. This is most notably in regards to their Persistence (a.k.a. Durability) parameter - making them less prone to fatigue and giving their abilities more potency - but also their power.

What counts as "complimentary" is largely up to interpretation, but it needs to be obvious to both participants that the action taken benefits the other. Stand Synergy is also notably able to somewhat change how abilities operate, for example, making Ace of Hearts' normally-straight Lines curl and twist around Sweet Six Shooter's Shots.

Having resentment/anger, or even a general lack of love/affection for one's "Synergy Partner" drastically weakens the Synergy's effects, as seen in the fight between Jessie and Matthew Robinson and Josephine and Jacob Joestar.

Incomplete Stands

New to this part, it can be seen that under certain circumstances, Stands can be manifested before they were supposed to, resulting in them not having their full ability until it later develops. The main example of this is Ace of Hearts, who begins with Silver Line as its only Line Technique, but eventually develops more over the course of the story, but also present are Sweet Six Shooter, who originally only possessed 5 Shots, gaining Shot No. 5 later, and Scissor Sisters, who was originally only Violet Sister before Rose Sister manifested alongside it weeks later.

This is somewhat similar to, but also different from, Act Stands.

Chapter Review/Summary

Volume 1 - We Have An Enemy

Chapter 1 - I'm Howling At The Moon

Jacob Joestar looks out his window one morning, seeing a strange "man" fighting his sister, Josephine Joestar, and runs to help, but soon discovers that nothing is as it seems. Josephine tries to fight it, but gets distracted by her brother and gets affected by its terrifying ability.

Author's Note: This is my first ever chapter of my first ever story! I think it's decent... not sure what to say. I feel like it leads into the first battle pretty well.

Chapter 2 - Ace of Hearts

Jacob manifests his Stand for the first time, and, despite having lots to learn and an unfortunate slip-up, he's able to help his sister defeat their enemy, before demanding to know what's happening.

Author's Note: The first battle I ever wrote! I think it may have gotten kinda repetitive, but overall, I feel like I was able to imbue it with the sort of frantic atmosphere that I was going for, so that's good.

Chapter 3 - Don't Pull the Trigger Yet

Josephine explains all about Stands to her brother and how they work, before heading out to attack the person she believes to be the user of the Stand they just battled.

Chapter 4 - Killer Mirror (part 1)

Josephine and Jacob, having arrived at the suspect's apartment, are trying to figure out their next course of action when Jacob suddenly collapses. Josephine finds the apartment's owner, Bethany, and, after a quick fight, gets pulled into a mirror by her Stand, Killer Mirror.

Chapter 5 - Killer Mirror (part 2)

Josephine, now in a bizarre mirror-world, sees her brother be brutally murdered in front of her. However, learning that it's all just an illusion, and not a mirror world and that her brother is in fact safe, she becomes determined to escape and goes on a rampage. Successfully defeating the Stand, she's ready to lay down the pain on her foe.

Author's Note: Yeah, I know that this chapter is full of cliches, from "it was all a dream" to "this was all just mistaken identity". My bad. What I was trying to establish during this fight was Josephine's character, and how much of a violent hothead she can be.

Chapter 6 - Taking Out the Slow Ones

Upon questioning Bethany, she learns that this was all just a case of mistaken identity, and that they both thought the other was working with the mysterious Stand from before, who has apparently been attacking and killing other Stand users.

Chapter 7 - There's a Place I Know

Josephine takes Jacob out into a field in an attempt to help him figure out how his Stand works, since he refuses to stop trying to help her. After a disagreement, they cut the training short, only for Jacob to be suddenly attacked by an unknown Stand.

Author's Note: Training Montage! I feel like this is something that's distinctively lacking in JoJo that could be kind of cool to see. I was expecting it with Koichi and I was definitely expecting it with Trish, but... you know. And sorry for teasing an epic fight between Josephine and Jacob. For the record, you aren't going to get that, but if you're wondering who'd win in a fight, it's Josephine by a landslide.

Chapter 8 - Take It Off (part 1)

A mysterious woman known as Jessie starts approaching them, trying to play innocent but soon jumping onto the offensive, disassembling Jacob's body and then threatening to do the same to Josephine.

Author's Note: This part was weird, it was like it wrote itself. I like to think that the whole chaotic aspect of Jessie's personality came together well and the reactions to her were about exactly how I imagined them.

Chapter 9 - Take It Off (part 2)

Josephine starts to figure out the workings of Jessie's Stand, Take It Off, but learns that it still has many more tricks up its sleeve, being able to enter an essentially-invincible form that's only weakness is heat. Things start to look bad as Jessie plants a zipper on Josephine's head.

Chapter 10 - Take It Off (part 3)

Jessie, having detached Josephine's head, putting her at a disadvantage, become extremely confident, allowing her to be tricked into moving so that the Joestars are no longer in range. The two defeat her using some sort of bizarre fusion technique between Josephine's Shot No. 4 and Jacob's Silver Line.

Author's Note: Hmmm... what's this?! New Stand ability? This is the first glimpse of Stand Synergy present in the story. How else is it going to come into play, I wonder???

Volume 2 - The Power Of Two

Chapter 11 - 1-2-7-3!

Josephine, wanting answers regarding enemy Stands and the mysterious phenomenon they witnessed, brings her brother to Rockefeller Street, a gathering place for Stand users, where she hopes to find someone with the information she's seeking.

Author's Note: Interestingly enough, I originally wanted to name the meeting place Funkytown because it was the only song that sounded like a place that I could think of, but then I realized that I was listening to Rockefeller Street at that very moment. Great song = cool Stand.

Chapter 12 - The Bass and the Tweeters

Jacob is having a great deal of fun looking at all the interesting Stand abilities, while Josephine meets up with her friend Electra. Jacob meets a very curious character named Roman Kishibe.

Author's Note: At this point I wanted to take a little bit of a break to establish Jacob's personality some more. I wanted this place to feel sort of like the Mos Eisley cantina (the bar from Star Wars), where you can look around and see something new and interesting in every corner.

Chapter 13 - All Of Your Friends, They'd Try To Kill Us

Josephine learns that the Stand that attacked her and her brother, Discord, belongs to someone who's been dead for three months. She is given the address of someone who potentially knows about a strange power that exists between Stands of blood-related individuals, and then leaves with her brother, only to be confronted by a new and dangerous Stand, with the same odd colouring as Discord, named Queen Supreme. Josephine isn't able to use Shot No. 1 since it would likely kill the man being held hostage.

Chapter 14 - "Queen Supreme" (part 1)

Electra and Josephine attempt to rescue the hostage and Jacob. Suddenly, a strange and unknown Stand ability comes into effect, making everyone present more powerful, but then extremely weak.

Chapter 15 - "Queen Supreme" (part 2)

Struggling against the brought-on weakness, everyone present is scrambling to fight however they can. Jacob uses a new ability to rescue Electra, and then the three of them finish off Queen Supreme in a dramatic fashion.

Author's Note: If I'm being entirely honest, this fight literally only existed to establish Electra as someone who can fight, and to have the strange roses mentioned again. Jacob getting a new ability here instead of later was actually thought of right as I started writing the last chapter. Oh, and in case you were wondering, yes, Queen Supreme references not only the band Queen, but also the lipstick colour, Queen Supreme. I'm super into lipstick and feel like there are a lot of names that would make for cool Stand names, and hey, this is my story, after all. The ability references the song Under Pressure.

Chapter 16 - Dalia

Taking place in Josephine's place of work, she's very tired from the previous day of exerting herself with little sleep. Something is very clearly off about Dalia.

Author's Note: So, this chapter is certainly... different. There aren't even Stands! But, yeah, what I was trying to do here was establish Josephine's reaction in an uncomfortable situation where she can't just punch her way out, as well as introduce Dalia in an organic way. I'm not saying that this chapter is poorly written, but I do understand that it's probably not what you were looking for when you wanted to read JoJo, though it certainly has its place.

Chapter 17 - The Scissor Sisters (part 1)

Josephine and Jacob meet Electra's "interesting" friend, Anna Mason, and her sentient Stand, Scissor Sisters. She tells them all that she knows, which isn't much, before Jacob drops a bombshell.

Chapter 18 - The Scissor Sisters (part 2)

Jacob learns about the concept of Incomplete Stands. Anna wants to start experimenting right away, so she decides to have the Scissor Sisters fight against the Joestar's Stands, and an unfortunate accident takes place.

Author's Note: Okay, so, so far I've written two chapters of the Scissor Sisters arc... and both have had dramatic cliffhanger endings. Uh... sorry about that.

Chapter 19 - The Scissor Sisters (part 3)

Jacob and Josephine battle the Scissor Sisters, learning to work together and being able to pull off a successful Stand Synergy attack.

Author’s Note: Big dramatic fight scene! It might go on for a little while longer than it needs to, but I was having a lot of fun writing it and it sort of just got away from me. I’m having a lot of fun with Anna Mason and her Stand... I love the way she’s just completely insane, and acts almost like a mother to an angsty teen and a five-year-old.

Chapter 20 - Blue Fucking Raspberry

Josephine and Jacob get to know the Scissor Sisters a little better, and Josephine figures out something very interesting.

Author's Note: Why do I have four characters that have a defining character trait that's "likes candy"? That's what I call good writing right there. This is another chapter where not much happens, I'm really just trying to establish character traits. I'm having way too much fun with the Scissor Sisters. I know giving Jacob Foolish Line in conjunction with Stand Synergy can start to result in some serious Deus Ex Machina situations... I'm going to try my best to avoid that.

Chapter 21 - Making Blueberry Jam

Josephine, in the pursuit of some important knowledge, goes to see the one person she wants to see less than anyone else, and to no one's surprise, a fight breaks out.

Author's Note: I'm gonna be entirely honest... this whole fight was not planned until I actually started writing the chapter. Considering it was almost entirely improvised, I think I did okay. It may have ended a little anticlimactically, but, I think it ended similarly enough to the fight between Josuke and Rohan... and I think that honestly works pretty well.

Volume 3 - They're After Us

Chapter 22 - Don't Drink Her Potions

Josephine is convinced that Dalia is the one who's been responsible for all of the previous day's events, while Jacob attempts to get her to think rationally. Josephine gets mad and storms off, but before they can reconcile, Jacob disappears.

Author’s Note: Yeah, so, the story’s been kinda tame lately. I know. It will get better. There are a couple of cool, big fights happening real soon, and some actual plot development, too!

Chapter 23 - Sweet But Psycho

Josephine finds Jacob acting incredibly strangely, before he attacks her out of the blue, raving about nonsense. A woman named Mavis introduces herself as the cause, but seems incredibly calm about everything.

Chapter 24 - Sweet But Psycho and My Head & My Heart (part 1)

Jacob continues to attack Josephine, but he's dealt with fairly easily. Josephine, despite getting briefly entranced, takes out Mavis easily enough, before being affected by some other ability as a new person enters.

Author's Note: Woah... this one took me a while to write! Sorry about that. There's a bunch of stuff going on right now, and I'm having a little bit of difficulty concentrating on just one thing. But nonetheless, I am working on this, and there's cool stuff to come!

Chapter 25 - Sweet But Psycho and My Head & My Heart (part 2)

With Mavis and Maxine's Stand Synergy ability, the two are able to take control of Josephine, and now things don't look good for Jacob.

Chapter 26 - Sweet But Psycho and My Head & My Heart (part 3)

With a severe numbers disadvantage, Jacob starts to realize that he needs to come up with something... and fast. Thanks to some quick thinking, he's able to save Josephine, who's able to win them the day. Josephine decides that they have something to do the following day, so she calls into work to inform them that she won't be coming, while some mysterious figure watches from afar.

Author's Note: I'm gonna be honest, I don't think this arc was my best work. I've had some writer's block lately, but I think that I did a decent enough job wrapping it up. The next fight's going to be very different from my other ones, so look forward to that!

Also, I wonder what Telephone is a reference to? Some questions may never be answered...

Chapter 27 - Lights, They Blind Me

Josephine, waking up refreshed, informs Jacob that they're going to go visit Electra. The two exchange a heartfelt moment before seeing Electra, who isn't letting her injuries get her down. They have a brief conversation before a mysterious Stand makes itself known.

Chapter 28 - Cold As Ice (part 1)

A Stand with ice-related abilities begins to attack Electra's room. While the group is figuring out what to do, they get interrupted by a woman posing as a nurse who reveals herself as the user.

Chapter 29 - Cold As Ice (part 2)

The woman, introducing herself as Ella, is proving to be powerful and very dangerous to face, but Jacob comes up with a plan to help Josephine, and then an even better plan to escape her dangerous Stand.

Author's Note: Legend has it that the Joestars have a secret, ultimate technique that's been passed down for generations, perfect for ending conflicts quickly and effectively. Some tell tales of how it was even used to defeat an ultimate life form, but... who knows.

NIGERUNDAYOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! Yep. I had to do it. I apologize for nothing. Honestly, that little part wasn't even planned, I just saw the opportunity in the moment and knew I had to take it.

Chapter 30 - Cold As Ice (part 3)

Josephine and Jacob, with quick thinking, are able to defeat Ella and destroy the strange flower on her wrist, revealed to be controlling her. Ella states that she would like to join their team and find the person sending Stand users after them, before also offering to heal Electra.

Author's Note: Uh... Th3Gr8DrX... are you implying that JoJo exists WITHIN JoJo? Um, yes, I guess I am. I lnow it makes no sense, but I thought it'd be a fun little remark...

Chapter 31 - Show Me Love, Give Me War

The four make plans to meet up at Rockefeller Street the next day, and as everyone starts to head home, the Joestars are approached by a Stand.

Author's Note: Yeah... so, this chapter was originally supposed to be Torn part 1, but then I wrote it, and Torn didn't really appear. Whatever, this works too.

Chapter 32 - Torn (part 1)

Josephine and Jacob come face-to-face with a very seemingly pathetic Stand that introduces itself as Torn, and, saying that it wants to take a very different approach to fighting them this time, it reveals its powerful ability to them

Chapter 33 - Torn (part 2)

Upon finding out Torn's weakness, Josephine proceeds to defeat it in a particularly violent fashion and with fire in her eyes, but getting pretty badly hurt in the process.

Author's Note: A strange fire in the eyes? Oooh my! Whatever could this mean? Hey, Th3Gr8DrX, this wasn't really... like, a fight. Josephine just kicked the shit out of Torn. What gives? Yeah, I know. I was trying to establish that Josephine is a Dark Determination user, and can be very ruthless and needlessly violent at times. Was this a good way to do that? I don't know. This is the first thing I've ever wrote, remember?

Volume 4 - Shit Gets Real

Chapter 34 - Never Ever Stop (Pop)

Josephine, suspecting Dalia of covering up the enemy Stand attacks, confronts her about it, but after suddenly feeling a strange and familiar sensation, leaves with little success.

Author's Note: Th3Gr8DrX, why did Dalia reference a song that's a Stand? What's wrong with you? Well, you tell me this: Why did Gwess sing "Jolene"? Why did Ungalo say that "Bohemian Rhapsody is the song of freedom"? This has happened before, and I just find it hilarious (because I'm insane).

Chapter 35 - So Hot, Out The Box

Josephine leaves work feeling dazed and confused before meeting back up with Jacob, Ella and Electra at Rockefeller Street, discussing the enemies they've fought over the past few days while Jacob and Ella have fun looking around. Suddenly, a familiar ability appears alongside a familiar man.

Author's Note: Haha did you get the reference at the start of the chapter? Aren't I just so clever? (I'm not, but please tell me I am)

Chapter 36 - Turn It Up, Heat It Up

Josephine approaches the strange man, but upon seeing her Stand, he freaks out and passes out.

Author's Note: This chapter's really short... oops...

Chapter 37 - For Your Entertainment (part 1)

The man introduces himself as Frederick Cantwell and names his Stand For Your Entertainment. He starts to understand Stands more, and begins to slowly become a little more optimistic, until their party is crashed by a man named Stephen Cass who says that he's after Frederick, but also says that there's a bounty on Josephine's head before luring her outside and attacking her.

Author's Note: His name is "Cantwell"? Really? Yeah, I know. Subtle. It's not my best work, but what do you want from me?

Chapter 38 - Ready IV Love (part 1)

Josephine and Jacob struggle to combat the powerful Ready IV Love, so Frederick attempts to come to their aid, but really only makes things worse as he realizes that his ability has no degree of control.

Chapter 39 - Ready IV Love (part 2)

Josephine and Jacob get cornered by Ready IV Love, and, in a tight situation, it all falls on the helpless Frederick to come to the rescue, so he realizes that he can help if he really tries, and unlocks the second Act of his Stand.

Chapter 40 - For Your Entertainment (part 2)

Stephen Cass is proving himself to be a powerful opponent, being able to take down everyone, even the newly arrived Electra and Ella, but when he starts to get confident, he leaves himself open to a new Stand Synergy technique powered up by For Your Entertainment and imbued with a strangely familiar phenomenon.

Author's Note: Hope you enjoyed this! I feel like it may have gone on for a little too long (my bad), but I also don't think it's unreadable or anything. Crazy to believe that I've already written 40 chapters, huh?

Oh yeah, and the thing that happened with the Heavy Foolish Shot? Why, yes. That is exactly what you think it is.

Chapter 41 - A Lost Cause, A Fast Fight

Electra and Anna drill Frederick and Josephine with endless questions, but then leave abruptly, without answering all of Josephine's questions in turn, excited about findings of some sort and requesting another meeting the next day, so Josephine and Jacob plan on going out to get answers somewhere else.

Author's Note: Wow, Th3Gr8DrX... your foreshadowing is as subtle as a brick. I sure do wonder who the next enemy Stand user is! Who could possibly be the night club owner? I know... I may have laid on the reference a little thick... but I had a real fun time doing it!

Chapter 42 - Lose Your Mind, Lose It Now

Josephine, Jacob and David head over to Raising Hell, taking in its bizarre atmosphere before meeting the owner, a familiar person who soon attacks.

Author's Note: Ooooooooooh! Jessie's back! I'm sure not a single on of you saw that coming. I think this fight's gonna be a lot more engaging than her first one.

Also, I feel like I went to a lot of work making the Raising Hell Stands have interesting powers that fit the atmosphere of a club while also having somewhat appropriate names and fitting a certain theme, but no one's even gonna notice. Oh well, c'est la vie.

Chapter 43 - Take It Off (part 4)

Josephine and Jacob once again engage in combat with Jessie Robinson and her powerful Take It Off, but this time, something's very different. Not only has she got them trapped in a situation where Shot No. 1 is unusable, but her personality has dramatically changed as well.

Chapter 44 - Take It Off (part 5)

With Jacob severely damaged, Josephine is left mostly to her own devices, trying to figure out a non-explosive way to fight back, before giving up and just trying to blow Jessie up, being stopped by Jacob before he passes out. Horrified by the strange phenomenon taking over her, she decides that the fight doesn't need to end with a winner and a loser, and that she should just leave. Jessie displays great pain and anger.

Author's Note: I hate this chapter. So much. Not cuz it's bad or anything, but because just as I finished writing it, my computer glitched and deleted it, so I had to write it all over again. UUUUURRRRGGHHHH!!!!

Oh yeah, and also, I really hope you're liking this! I'm taking Jessie in a really different way, a way I don't think many saw coming from the start... a way that's... frankly, a little fucked up. I hope it works out!

Volume 5 - Rock-Hard Determination

Chapter 45 - Cuckoo!

On another one of Josephine's "sick days", they plan to head off to Rockefeller Street once again, but get stopped in the lobby by a woman named Alex who wants them to deliver a strange "note" to Tom. Josephine has an unappreciated realization about herself and learns that bottling up your emotions can be very unpleasant

Author's Note: Uh... Th3Gr8DrX... what the fuck was that? Are you... okay? Yeah... I don't know either. I knew that that was going to have to happen eventually, it might as well go here. Honestly though, I'm pretty happy with this chapter. I was able to establish a lot of stuff that I knew I needed to.

Chapter 46 - Just Say That You Want Me

Josephine goes to Rockefeller Street and deliver's Alex's drawing to Tom, but he promptly discards it. Josephine and Jacob learns about a strange phenomenon known as the Spin.

Chapter 47 - Roma, Roma Ma

Josephine and Electra perform a test, learning that Sweet Six Shooter is able to use a phenomenon known as the Spin. Josephine and Jacob learn about Dark Determination, and while it's hard to hear, it takes a load off of her chest.

Author's Note: "Th3Gr8DrX, why? Why though? Why?" -you, after reading this chapter. Yeah, I know. I tried something. I feel like that kind of jokes would be something that would happen in actual JoJo, so... you know. Idk, JoJolion's breaking my brain.

Chapter 48 - No, No! You're Catherine Zeta!

Josephine, Jacob, Electra and Anna have their Rockefeller Street visit interrupted by a strange woman named Dianna and her Stand, MARINA, though, not being dangerous as much as just annoying, she leaves without a confrontation taking place. Though, everything is not the same as it was left when everyone goes back inside.

Chapter 49 - Best Regards From Hell

A strange statue, delivered by Alex Getter, sets everyone on edge, even more so when Jacob discovers something particularly odd about it.

Author's Note: Okay! Okay, I get it. The story's super boring right now. It will get better real soon. There are a bunch of fights that are gonna happen real soon, just rapid-fire, one after the other. It's gonna be great. Thanks for the patience.

Chapter 50 - Living La Dolce Vita

The Statue comes to life and causes mayhem, petrifying Sam, and causing Josephine, Jacob, Electra and Anna to be lured into the mysterious Valley of the Dolls.

Author's Note: WOW! 50 chapters! Holy crap! This is actually insane. I feel so accomplished, even though this story isn't even half done. Been chugging away for a long time, and there's still so much more to go. Those of you reading, thanks for coming along for the ride :D

Chapter 51 - My Face is Undefinable

Everyone wanders around the Valley of the Dolls with very little aim, until Josephine and Electra find each other. At first relieved, Josephine quickly realizes something is wrong when multiple Electras begin to appear.

Chapter 52 - My Name (part 1)

Everyone is wandering around aimlessly, but it is soon revealed that there's more than one Stand present in the Valley of the Dolls, as a man named Undeniable introduces his My Name to Josephine and plays a dirty trick on her.

Author's Note: Haha yes, I know. His name is "Undeniable". However do I come up with this sort of thing? I'm just so clever and creative. Anyway, I'm honestly having a lot of fun writing this arc! Like, this is one of the few ones that actually seem to be just flowing out of me. I haven't gotten writer's block or anything yet! It's nice... I hope I don't jinx myself.

Chapter 53 - My Name (part 2)

The confusion starts to build, when suddenly, a third ability present in the Valley of the Dolls is discovered.

Chapter 54 - Family Jewels

Odd gemstones begin popping up, causing irrational paranoia and fear to sprout in the minds of onlookers and those nearby. Jacob discovers a way to somehow bypass My Name.

Chapter 55 - Musical Cacophony

Jacob gets very hurt and separated from Anna, but finds a woman named Seventeen, and a combination of My Name and Family Jewels provokes Josephine into attacking Electra.

Chapter 56 - Am I Just a Fool?

Jacob is able to just barely manage to rescue Seventeen from the control of a flower similar to one seen before, but isn't in good condition at all. Josephine and Electra are able to escape their situation thanks to Family Jewels' ability deactivating, but witness a disturbing sight immediately after.

Volume 6 - Kind Of Gory, Far From Boring

Chapter 57 - I Think I've Lost It All

Seventeen seeks out Anna Mason in order to teach her how to navigate the Valley of the Dolls, who in turn teaches Josephine and Electra. Josephine, being for some reason unable to track down Jacob, instead sets her sights on Undeniable.

Chapter 58 - My Tower of Cards Wasn't Strong

Josephine begins her battle with Undeniable, but gets quickly overwhelmed. Fortunately, Anna and Electra formulate a plan to finally defeat him and get rid of the fake people once and for all.

Chapter 59 - Good Luck, Good Luck to You

Undeniable employs a plan to trick Starring Role, allowing her to be found and pursued by Josephine and the rest.

Chapter 60 - Sweet Red Wine

Starring Role is defeated, and everyone makes it out of the Valley of the Dolls safe and sound, with Jacob and Sam coming to with no ill effects from being petrified. But just when everything seems fine and people think they can start to relax, Electra gets a mysterious phone call before another ability appears.

Author's Note: Sorry about that... Valley of the Dolls got a little out of hand... don't worry, it's over now. Thanks for the patience.

Chapter 61 - Bad Romance

Josephine and Anna get taken out of commission, meaning that Electra, Jacob, Ella and Frederick need to fight off this new foe on their own.

Chapter 62 - That's Just the Way of the World

While fighting off an increasing number of strange creatures, the group begins to explore For Your Entertainment's effect in conjunction with their own abilities, but everything starts to go south when someone named Mitch makes his presence known.

Author’s Note: You know... this writing stuff is fun. You get to just say stuff and then it becomes official! Electra can do a double axel... because I say so! I wrote it... and now it’s canon.

Chapter 63 - Thumbs (part 1)

Mitch introduces his Stand, Thumbs, which is proving to be very difficult to combat, especially with Bad Romance's help, but Jacob manages to figure out its ability, and Josephine comes and joins in the fight.

Chapter 64 - Thumbs (part 2)

The fight starts to intensify, and people start getting hurt while Mitch doesn't get any less confident. In a moment of vulnerability, things start to look bad for Josephine, but fortunately for her, something bizarre happens to For Your Entertainment.

Author's Note: Yep... I've officially done it. Jacob's arm getting fucked up is now a running joke in the series.

Chapter 65 - For Your Entertainment (part 3)

The mysterious attacker does away with Mitch, but not before he hurts Jacob pretty badly. They then proceed to say that they have "seen enough", and have no desire to see serious harm come to the group... whatever that means.

Chapter 66 - I'd Respect You Too Much

Everyone recuperates in Rockefeller Street, reflecting on what just happened. Anna is perfectly fine, but unfortunately, Ella isn't able to fully heal Jacob.

Author's Note: So... nothing really... happens in this chapter. Uh... oops? Well, don't worry. The next few chapters won't be dull.

Chapter 67 - You Think I'm Just a Diva

Josephine wakes up to find Jacob, evidently doing quite well. She plans to go and give Electra's husband's car back, now that he's back from his business trip, but before she goes, she starts to see a mysterious woman appearing all over the place. After she gets to Electra's house, she knocks on the door, but... for some reason, Electra doesn't answer the door.

Chapter 68 - Dear Diary, I Met a Boy

Not sure how to make this concise... just... read it.

Author's Note: Yeah, I know, the sudden joke was probably pretty jarring. Oh well, I kinda like it, so I'm keeping it in. And... yeah... I know this may not be what you're looking for when it comes to JoJo's Bizarre Adventure... but... uh... it's not your story???

Chapter 69 - Like a Blade, or Bayonet

Same thing as chapter 68.

Author's Note: You know... I originally wanted to call this chapter "She Knows How to Get Down"... but I thought that might have been... a bit much. Also, I was gonna wait a few days to post this, but I'm incredibly impatient.

Volume 7 - Lying on a Fake Beach

Chapter 70 - My Blood Is Burning

Josephine reveals that she regrets the previous night's actions and is starting to feel bad about herself. Jacob convinces her, using ethically questionable methods, that she did nothing wrong, and then her and Electra go on an impromptu date.

Chapter 71 - Electric Personality

Electra reminisces fondly about memories of her and Josephine, and Josephine's finally starting to loosen up... until their date gets crashed by a Stand ability.

Author's Note: Venus Fly Trap, huh? Damn... I really shoulda called the place "Another Medium". Oh well.

Chapter 72 - Metal Crusher (part 1)

Josephine and Electra discover the ability's weakness and things are starting to look up... until the Stand itself shows up to throw a wrench in their plans.

Author's Note: Hahaha, he said the thing. I know, I'm very funny and clever. Oh yeah, sorry that this took so long... I've been otherwise occupied for a little while now.

Chapter 73 - Metal Crusher (part 2)

Metal Crusher starting to prove more and more resilient and annoying, Josephine starts to hold back less... but so does it.

Author's Note: Hehehe... he lost an arm. Fortunately, I think we all know that he doesn't need arms. He can still win! Anyway, I think I'm gonna be able to put chapters out more regularly now... so look forward to that, I suppose.

Chapter 74 - Metal Crusher (part 3)

Josephine, with some quick thinking and help from Electra, is able to deduce the user of Metal Crusher's identity and defeat her. Unfortunately, their date is ruined, but neither of them really seems to care.

Author's Note: MAN! I had fun writing this fight. I think it's pretty good? Idk... tell me what you think in a comment or something...

Chapter 75 - And That's Why I'd Wait Until We Got Married

Everyone attends a live event being put on by Mr. Black and Mr. White, despite Josephine's resistance. While there, they reminisce with people... before seeing something unexpected and startling.

Chapter 76 - Nice Work You Did

A new Stand is met, with a user no one expected.

Chapter 77 - just not really feeling up to it...

Josephine being unimpressed by the latest Stand user to join their little group, the Joestars decide to head home, but unfortunately, Josephine's nap gets interrupted.

Chapter 78 - Ghost Fight

Josephine and Jacob fight off the assault from the powerful Ghost Fight... or, at least, make a good attempt at it. As Josephine has the blood drained from her body, things... do not look good.

Author's Note: You've heard of the S T A R S U C C, now get ready for the S W E E T S L U R P. Huh... not as catchy. Why did I have that interaction happen, you're asking? Uh... good question.

Chapter 79 - With The Glamour And The Stigma

Josephine is tired and frustrated from the fight that just transpired, and irritated by the notion that she's just being messed with... which isn't made better my a knocking at the door and a strange leaf that seems to react to certain diction.

Chapter 80 - I'm Trying To Get Back As Fast I Can

Josephine and Jacob are finally formally introduced to the mysterious and elusive Strawberry Fields Forever and her bizarre brother, before being challenged to a fight. Josephine is, surprise surprise, not very impressed.

Chapter 81 - I Am Not My Body, Not My Mind, Or My Brain

Strawberry Fields Forever and her strange brother's idea of a fight seems to be a game of hide-and-seek, so that's what they do, much to the irritation of Josephine. It's quickly revealed, however, that the Joestars have an unseen ally present, guiding them along the right path and rooting for them to win this encounter... for some reason. It's a pity that might not happen, given Jacob getting infected by Modern Land's nature.

Chapter 82 - We Could Bear Witness to the Rise and the Fall

Josephine and Jacob pursue Strawberry Fields Forever but find her brother, who tells them something about how Modern Land works before being whisked away by his sister. Strawberry Fields Forever reveals that she knows the Joestars' note-passing ally, and Josephine, ready for a fight, gets infected with Modern Land.

Author's Note: Progress? Actual progress? On the Strawberry Fields Forever Fight? Who are you and what have you done with Th3Gr8DrX?

Sorry... I know I've been a little slow at writing lately... I've got some stuff on my plate right now... hopefully chapters will start coming out more frequently pretty soon. As always, I hope you're enjoying the read!

Chapter 83 - The Space Between the Stars and the Sky

Strawberry Fields Forever continues her attack. But, even before she was defeated, it starts to become obvious that winning is not what she's after. With a cryptic remark, she departs for... somewhere.

Volume 8 - There’s a Thin Line

Chapter 84 - She Knows Exactly What She Wants

Josephine is having a nice enough day, until her peace and quiet gets ruined by a certain someone and her imaginary friend.

Chapter 85 - He Walks and Talks Like a Machine

Dianna is briefly socialized with, as unpleasant as that was, before her brother shows up and tries to get her back on some sort of schedule... which apparently means using their bizarre abilities to rob a jewelry store.

Chapter 86 - Oh No! It's MARINA! (part 1)

The gang finds out exactly how dangerous and invincible MARINA is... until it isn't. Fortunately, Joseph's ability proves to be just as terrifying.

Author's Note: Hahaha... oh, oh no, oh no... oh no-o! This was a pretty fun chapter, hope you enjoyed!

Chapter 87 - Oh No! It's MARINA! (part 2)

Dianna and Joseph prove themselves to be formidable opponents in a fight, but their encounter is thankfully interrupted. Then again, everyone is a little less thankful when they realize who it is that "helped" them.

Chapter 88 - Ghost Town (part 1)

Everyone is whisked off to some sort of alternate plane of existence, where they meet a number of ghosts, familiar and new, including one of the former user of Ghost Town, who Frederick is both happy and unhappy to see. Unfortunately, the reunion is cut short when Ghost Town shows up and starts showing off its secondary ability.

Author's Note: Guys, don't worry, I should be able to actually wrap up this arc in an actual, reasonable amount of time! I'm looking very, very forward to the next fight... so it's gonna be a great driving force for me.

Chapter 89 - Ghost Town (part 2)

Ghost Town's ability is proving itself to be very difficult to combat, given the fact that they're an enemy that you can't touch, and that even their dead bodies are dangerous. People's body parts are starting to grow less numerous, and it looks like everyone's in a bit of a tight spot, now that they're surrounded.

Chapter 90 - Ghost Town (part 3)

Ghost Town starts to make a run for it, leaving behind Cleansers to take out the remaining fighting-fit people, but it is ultimately caught and defeated, allowing everyone to safely go back to their home world.

Chapter 91 - What You Say (What, What You Say)

Everyone gets back to the world of the living, and console Frederick for his loss. After everything is over, Electra makes plans with Josephine to do something fun later that day. Both are optimistic for the date, but Electra gets an unexpected visitor that might result in their night being derailed.

Chapter 92 - Breathing Down My Neck, She's Got Me Wrapped Around Her Wrist

I don't feel like summarizing it, just... read it.

Author's Note: Uh... so... sorry about that. I tried something new. I... hope you enjoy? I guess?

Chapter 93 - Eternal Game of Tug of War

Josephine has to fight off a hypnotized and crazed Electra without being able to hurt her too much. It takes a serious toll on her body, but she fortunately pulls through.

Author's Note: Okay, okay! That's it! There's not gonna be any more of... that in The Duality of Stand, okay? I promise. Sorry, and thanks for putting up with me.

Volume 9 - I Am Not The Enemy

Chapter 94 - Waiting For the Penny to Drop

Josephine wakes up in good spirits... which is rare for her... but also apparently quite short-lived, as an irritating phone call followed by two encounters, one confusing and one hostile, puts her right back to her usual, battle-ready self.

Chapter 95 - Gold Rush, Gold Rush

Josephine and Jacob try to figure out how to escape an infuriating stalemate set up by Greek Gold Rush's ultimate defense. But now it seems like there's more at play, when a woman who introduces herself as Jenny Lapin enters the fight not on Golden Boy's side, but on a third side, also interested in the Joestars' demise.

Chapter 96 - Need to Purge the Poison

Golden Boy and Jenny start to turn on each other, and their chances for victory start to dwindle. Despite the damage Josephine takes, Jacob is still able to pull through and win with a new, powerful temporary Stand.

Chapter 97 - Who You Gonna Call?

Mr. Black informs the group about an organization called CASCADA, before calling on his contact, an old friend of Electra's and an... "acquaintance" of Josephine's, who, after catching up, makes a plan to help them get some information, and maybe even aid, from CASCADA.

Chapter 98 - Be My Weekend Lover

Josephine, Jacob, Electra and Strawberry Fields Forever find themselves staring down the incredibly intimidating prospect of entering the CASCADA headquarters. When they get inside, they're looking at a fight, but an enigmatic stranger by the name of Leone diffuses the tension and offers to lend the group some aid in their search for their pursuer.

Chapter 99 - You Didn't Love Me True

The search for clues at the CASCADA office building proves unsuccessful, save for Jacob and Electra learning something fun, so they make plans to meet up with Leone some other day, and then go to investigate a trap tip given to them by the mysterious and very, very creepy Wally.

Author's Note: I made a bunch of references to other people's work in this chapter... just thought it'd be fun. Go check out The Last Stand, JoJazo, Collision, and Synthetic Crimes, they're all pretty cool. And if I referenced something in this chapter that you made, and you don't want me to have done that, just tell me and I'll get rid of it :)

Chapter 100 - Hell No!!!

Josephine and her merry band of misfits start to get picked off by Wally's Witch Doctor, until Leone appears and sends Wally away. Everything's about to work out nicely... until another enemy shows up... and now Leone's mad.

Author's Note: And that, right there, ladies and gentlemen, is what you call a plagiarism reference! I hope you enjoyed that chapter, it was a pretty fun one to write. Also... uh... 100 chapters?! Holy shit, that's pretty cool! Thanks to everyone who's been reading, the support is wonderful <3

Chapter 101 - Traitor's Requiem

Leone and Josephine wind up finding themselves in a winding maze full of deathtraps. Josephine gets a lecture from Leone, but ironically, it ends up being him who finds it most difficult to lend a hand. (Oh God did I really just write that?)

Author's Note: Hey... sorry this took so long to come out... hope you enjoyed!

Chapter 102 - Rage to Drown Out These Feelings of Fear

Moody Jazz is proving to be a formidable and determined, yet also horribly confusing, enemy. However, Leone is showing his mettle, almost to a terrifying degree.

Chapter 103 - It's a Hole in the Wall

Everyone formulates a plan that will hopefully get them closer to wrapping up this whole terrible situation, with help from a familiar and yet still quite unwelcome source.

Volume 10 - It's a Dirty Free-For-All

Chapter 104 - Don't Look Back, Don't Give Up

Josephine and Jacob, on the way to meet up with everyone, get ambushed on the street by a boy Jacob knew, and his strange, future-predicting/mind reading/emotion controlling/whatever the fuck it does Stand, Manic Daydream, and aren't doing very well against it, unfortunately for them.

Chapter 105 - The Curse of a Manic Daydream

The boy whose name isn't important proves to be far more unhinged and dangerous than originally thought, allowing him to easily defeat Josephine, leaving Jacob to take down the enemy on his own, with help from a strange new ability.

Chapter 106 - Fuzzy Fuzzy Cute Cute

Josephine and Jacob finally meet up with everyone at their destination, only to discover something chilling and highly unfortunate. And now... the fight begins.

Chapter 107 - All Caught Up In The Way We Were

A few Stands are introduced as everyone is split up. The invincible MEGALOVANIA, accompanied by a mysterious woman's ability to hypnotize large crowds of people and another person's strange, seemingly archery-related ability.

Chapter 108 - I Love Myself, I Wanna See It

People start to find each other, but there are a number of developments made that make it seem impossible to keep it that way. People keep getting frustrated, but at least Dianna's been woken up. She'll be useful... probably...

Chapter 109 - I’ve Been So Happy Since I Walked Away

Anna, Electra and Josephine are able to figure out how the Stand that's sticking them together works, but that doesn't really matter because of Sweet Little Unforgettable Thing's ability, teleporting them away before they can put a plan into motion. Josephine is put into a sticky situation when she gets shot, and in the meantime, Jacob and Frederick are having a tough time fighting their foes.

Chapter 110 - My Heart's Like A Rubber Band

No one's having a particularly fun time, but the fighting is somewhat starting to go the Joestar group's way. Josephine is saved by Joseph and Dianna, and the way the sniper's Stand works is figured out by Electra, and Josephine goes off to fight him... only to find someone she used to know... and then be interrupted by a familiar face.

Chapter 111 - And They... Turn Me On

Yet more chaos ensues, and it seems like every advantage they thought they had has vanished. Panic starts to close in when Thaddeus Benton's Stand is noticed within the crowd. But what could it be doing?

Chapter 112 - I Need To Be Entertained

Thaddeus Benton's Stand, The Zombie, finally makes itself known just as the group thinks they've finally gotten themselves a win. Jason's Clean Bandit has an unexpected reaction with For Your Entertainment.

Chapter 113 - For Your Entertainment (part 4)

For Your Entertainment Act 4 proves to be incredibly powerful, enough to be able to effortlessly wrap up the fight nearly entirely by itself. It might just be the strongest Stand to ever live. But don't celebrate quite yet... because there's a catch to using it.

Chapter 114 - Ugly.

No one is taking the death of their friend particularly well, and conflict starts to brew. But that's going to have to wait, because now a familiar enemy is back, and this time, she has some help.

Chapter 115 - Take It Off and Abnormal

The fight goes back and forth, but Josephine and Jacob end up in a disadvantageous state. It seems like they're about to die, but Jacob is able to pull through with help from a new ability thanks to an opening left by Jessie and Matthew being unable to cooperate.

Chapter 116 - All The Lies

Jacob and Josephine have a sad sort of reconciliation, and Jacob is clearly very shaken up by what he'd done. Meanwhile, Jessie is out for revenge against Dalia, and uses a strange new ability to pull ahead in their encounter... until she isn't.

Chapter 117 - Wouldn't Change A Thing About You

Given the day's events, everyone is struggling a little bit. Or, rather, a lot. Ella takes Jacob off to give him some words of encouragement, and Josephine is taken by Electra to visit 11 Acorn Lane, where they end off their terrible day with something actually good.

Chapter 118 - Feeling Super, Super, Super!

Josephine's in a better mood than one would expect after the previous day's events, and, upon making a profound realization, has decided that she wants to better herself for the sake of the people she loves. That is... until something remarkably unfortunate happens... and now Josephine is off to pick a fight.

Chapter 119 - Cherry Gum (part 1)

Josephine, Jacob, and Dalia enjoy some lovely afternoon tea. Except Dalia wasn't in the room... and they weren't drinking tea... and... where's Dalia? And... Electra's here? Oh, dear... now Josephine's crying.

Chapter 120 - Cherry Gum (part 2)

It's immediately obvious that Dalia is much, much stronger than any other Stand user that Josephine and Jacob had fought before. They frankly have no hope. Except, they do. Dalia, like any enemy, is clearly able to become over confident, preferring to play with her food before she indulges, giving the Joestars the slightest of openings, but one they take nonetheless. But now... Dalia has called for backup. And she's out for blood.

Chapter 121 - Hold Your Breath, Are You Ready To Go?

Dalia is fighting full-force, violently and ruthlessly, making use of her surprise secondary ability, Emotional Rollercoaster, to overcome the Joestars... but it just isn't enough, and Josephine is able to pull ahead. But when she looks over the result of the battle... she doesn't understand why she doesn't feel better.

Chapter 122 - We Are the Spoons

Josephine and Jacob are clearly not doing very well after their encounter with Dalia. Josephine decides to give herself a makeover. Thaddeus Benton reveals his true identity to the Joestars, so they go out to find him, meeting up with an old friend as they do, who informs them that not everyone they were allied with has died.

Chapter 123 - There's a Fork in the Road

The spoon Stand is one that's recognized by Ella as Seek & Destroy. She reveals her history with it and joins the Breakdown Breakdown club, and her and Jacob have a heartwarming moment. And then... the chase is back on, and it really isn't seeming too good for everyone.

Chapter 124 - Mowgli's Road (part 1)

The pursuit continues, and Josephine has suffered some serious injuries that put her temporarily out of commission. Fortunately, Ella is able to fix her up pretty effectively, but they're still being chased relentlessly. That doesn't mean that infighting isn't going to start and built up resentment isn't going to rear its ugly head. Also Alex is here, remember her?

Chapter 125 - Mowgli's Road (part 2)

The gang is saved by Alex Getter's Stand, Mowgli's Road, which allows them to escape from Seek & Destroy by disappearing into paper. And then it's Alex's turn to spill her sad backstory, because The Duality of Stand isn't allowed to be fun anymore. Alex gives them a lead to Thaddeus Benton's location, and everyone knows that the end is quickly approaching.

Chapter 126 - Oh, If I Were a Zombie (part 1)

Josephine, Jacob, and Ella wind up in Thaddeus Benton's... weird... lab... heart storing... place. And it is simply horrifying. Josephine wanders off, and Jacob and Ella get attacked by a familiar and non-familiar foe.

Chapter 127 - Oh, If I Were a Zombie (part 2)

Jacob and Ella fend off attacks from 7th Heaven, until Thaddeus Benton shifts his attention to Josephine to prevent her from smashing a display case of some sort. And when the two clash... it isn't even close. Josephine is wildly outclassed, and is clearly about to die. Hopefully, Jacob can do a little better.

Chapter 128 - This Time You're Not Hurting Me

I'm not summarizing this. I'm sad. I regret everything. Leave me alone.

Chapter 129 - Stay With You

Josephine is mad. A new power awakens within Sweet Six Shooter. And Thaddeus Benton... gets what's coming to him.

Trivia

  • The name is not very creative or even good; it's a play on The Duality of Man. It was originally planned as a placeholder name that was subject to change, but... nah, it's kinda grown on me.
  • The way Stands are designed is name-first.
    • I listen to a song, if I like it and its name has potential to be a cool (or at least pleasing)-sounding name, then I watch the music video (or just go through the lyrics) to find inspiration for an ability. The Stand is then somehow worked into the story. Yes, I understand that that's a terrible way to do that.
    • The exceptions to this are Cold As Ice and Witch Doctor.
      • I came up with Cold As Ice's name and specific ability after deciding that my part needed a healer.
      • I came up with Witch Doctor when I decided it would be cool to have a colony Stand, and then decided that it would be cool and creepy to have it be made up of severed hands. Once I made up the ability, I browsed my playlist to find a suitable name.
  • There's actually a very interesting reason for the story being set in Seattle: that being that it's the name of a city in America that I know the name of.
  • 3 of my Stands start with the word "Sweet". That's because... um... I'm an idiot with terrible planning skills?
  • A lot of Stands in this part have similar abilities to one another, e.g. Sweet Six Shooter and Clean Bandit both shoot projectiles and use the Spin, Scissor Sisters and Ciao! are both Stands with two bodies, Killer Mirror and Sweet Little Unforgettable Thing both use mirrors in their abilities, MEGALOVANIA and Greek Gold Rush both have invulnerability, the list goes on... you get it.
    • There is a reason for this. I'm gonna explain it once this part finishes.
  • The Duality of Stand is actually canon. Why, you ask? Well... because Diavolo died! (Source: chapter 35)

Th3Gr8DrX's Music Suggestions

Why am I putting this here? I dunno, beats me. I like music... so, if ever you're looking for something to listen to, definitely try out:

  • MARINA/Marina and the Diamonds
    • this is the main one
  • Adam Lambert
  • Cascada
  • Ava Max
  • The Scissor Sisters
  • Dolly Style

And obviously, all the Stands are named after songs I think are good, I'd recommend all of them.
