Thaddeus Benton (known otherwise as Mr. Black) is the main antagonist of the ninth part of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure - The Duality of Stand. He is also the protagonist of Edward And Bella.
He is a Stand user wielding The Zombie, and is an utterly megalomaniacal psychopath that claims to be the ultimate Stand user, justifying everything he does with his belief that he is doing God’s work.
Appearance[]
Thaddeus Benton is a tall man, appearing to be in around his mid-to-early 40s, with black hair styled rather bizarrely, so that it sweeps up behind his ears coming to two points, with sideburns present as well (think young Heihachi from Tekken for reference). His attire consists of a black suit with a black tie and black pointed sunglasses.
Personality[]
Thaddeus Benton is a man defined by his drive and passion just as much as he is by his delusion, vanity, and sense of sadism. His ultimate goal, according to him, is to rid the world of Stand users because “that’s what God would want”, but this is provably false, as evidenced by his demonstrated desire to make himself stronger, such as when he had numerous attempts to kill the Joestars, but didn’t actually try until Jacob Joestar’s Stand became more powerful so that that he could gain a much more powerful Ace of Hearts for his own use, opting to simply send Stand users after them to test them instead of actually try to end them for good.
He takes pleasure in tormenting others, often dragging out his fights, engaging in casual conversation with his opponents, and preferring to use the Stands of people his victims knew before they died, as shown by his use of Ace of Hearts against Josephine Joestar.
He displays a great deal of intelligence in plans he formulates, thinking well ahead in order to get people where he wants them, as evidenced by how he made use of the services provided by Alex Getter so that he could later trick her into coming into contact with The Joestars and Ella Vee so that she could lead them into a place where he was ready to ambush them.
His loyalty appears to be to no one but himself, as evidenced by his relationship with Dalia, who would unwaveringly follow his every command no matter what, while he in turn would not even come to her aid fighting the Joestars, being unwilling to risk what could happen should he enter a situation he was not in control of.
He has a strong love for the Stand I Still Taste Fire, why this is is unknown.

Thaddeus Benton possesses the Stand The Zombie, which boasts completely unrivalled physical strength and allows him to steal away things from other people, such as memories, vitality, emotions, and Stands.
History[]
A large portion of this section is currently redacted, to be filled in as his history is revealed in the spinoff story Edward and Bella.
Thaddeus Benton is a man who one day, upon recognizing the true ability of his Stand, decided that it was his duty to kill and take the Stands of anyone who had an ability like his.
Some time after killing his brother, he used his Stand, Poker Face, to impersonate him and make it seem like he was still alive, even starting a radio show with him called It’s Not So Black And White. All the while, however, Thaddeus was just using his growing fame as an alibi of sorts, making it seem like, since he was under constant eye, his actions could be trusted.
In reality, he was operating in the shadows, mercilessly hunting down any and all Stand users he could find, as well as “recruiting” people to his cause with the help of his assistant Dalia’s Cherry Gum, most notably Ella Vee.
After a while, he discovers Josephine Joestar and her brother Jacob, who unknowingly expose themselves to him as Stand users of interest, and he becomes instantly fascinated with their abilities, especially once finds out that Ace of Hearts has more abilities that it is capable of developing, and begins to routinely send either Stands in his collection or brainwashed Stand users after them in order to test them, to see what they are truly capable of.
Eventually, he fakes the death of his already-dead brother and joins the Joestar party’s cause to stop him, going by his stage name, Mr. Black, and introducing himself as the user of a Stand called Far Kid.
After a while, he makes his move, killing Electra and Tom Getter, sending Josephine into a rage-driven frenzy, causing her to seek out and ultimately kill Dalia, who asks for his help, which he promises to give her, but ends up letting her die, not wanting to enter a situation he would potentially not have control over.
He ultimately ends up pursuing Josephine, Jacob, and Ella with Seek & Destroy, while also leading Alex Getter to them so that she could use her Mowgli's Road to brig them to him, where he attacks them, killing Jacob, but is then killed by Josephine and her new Stand, Sweet Six Shooter: Stay With You.

- His last name comes from Jim Benton, a past member of the band The Offspring. His first name is Thaddeus because Thaddeus is an evil name that an evil person would have. Sorry if that’s your name, but unfortunately, you’re evil, sorry you had to find out this way.
- There is a reason behind his design, but it’s long and convoluted and stupid so I’m not going to explain it here. If you really want to know, feel free to leave a message on my wall or something idk.
